As a Washington resident, your new or used electric vehicle purchase may be eligible for a range of incentives, including rebates and tax credits.

Federal Tax Credit

Tax credit for the purchase of a new plug-in electric drive motor vehicle. Credit amount depends on the car's battery capacity.

Federal Fuel Cell Motor Vehicle Tax Credit

A tax credit of up to $8,000 is available for the purchase of qualified light-duty fuel cell vehicles, depending on the vehicle's fuel economy.

Federal Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Tax Credit

Customers who purchase qualified residential fueling equipment before December 31, 2021, may receive a tax credit of up to $1,000.

Washington State EV Infrastructure Tax Exemption

Washington sales and use taxes do not apply to the labor and services for purchasing and installing EV infrastructure, including home charging stations.

Washington State EV Tax Exemption

New passenger cars, light-duty trucks, and medium-duty passenger vehicles that are dedicated AFVs and under $45,000 are exempt from state motor vehicle sales and use taxes. For used vehicles, the price must be below $30,000. Conditions and limitations apply.
